Membership is open to all Van Schaik Bookstore customers.

Where can I apply for my Van Schaik Rewards Card or SIM?
You can visit any Van Schaik Bookstore branch to complete an application form and claim your card, or obtain a Van Schaik Mobile SIM and RICA instore.

Will my personal information be safe with you?
Van Schaik Bookstore will not share your information with any third party.

Can I buy stuff on my Rewards Card?
No, your Rewards Card is purely a benefit-based card, which allows you to accumulate points on purchases made and entitles you to certain benefits, discounts and more. You CAN however use your points to pay for a purchase or use them as a part-payment on a purchase.

Van Schaik also offers account facilities. Simply visit  to apply for your Van Schaik Store card or visit any Van Schaik Bookstore.

What happens if I lose my card?
You need to go in store to fill out a new application form and inform them that you have lost your card. A new card will be issued to you and we will link your details to your new card so that you don’t lose out on any benefits.

What kind of information can I expect from Van Schaik Bookstore?
We will inform you about special offers, discounts, new products, competitions and advice that is relevant to your life.


How do I get points?
You will receive 1 point for every R100 spent, but for promotional purposes we can attach a greater value to it when you spend or redeem the points. We will also introduce certain promotions during the year that will give you an opportunity to earn extra points.

How do I use my points?
You can use points as a part-payment on a purchase or, if you have enough points, to pay for the product. Simply take your card to the cashier and inform them of what you would like to do.

Can I save up my points?
Yes, you may accumulate points should you wish to use it towards a larger purchase or when you are ready to use it.

Can I share points with friends?
At this point in time, we do not offer the option to give away points or share them with another person. Only the cardholder is entitled to his/her points.

When will my reward points expire?
Reward points will expire 24 months from the day you have earned them, with the oldest points redeemed first. All points earned in a particular calendar month will be available after the 15th day of the next month.

Can I look up my points balance?
Yes. You simply log in on the My Profile page and view it there or ask the cashier at your nearest store to look it up for you.



How can I Top up my Wallet balance?
By paying for a Top Up in a Van Schaik store. In the Van Schaik Rewards App, you can Top Up your Wallet via PayU using your credit card or internet banking.

Can I Top up my Rewards Points using my Van Schaik Bookstore account?
You cannot purchase points on your Van Schaik account, Bursary account, Fundi (Eduloan), sBux or Intellicard.

Can you top up someone else’s wallet?
Yes, you can top up in a Van Schaik store. While topping up on VPOS, you must select the correct Rewards member according to their ID number or their cellphone number.

Can I pay my Van Schaik account with my Rewards points?
No. The Rewards points cannot be used to pay your Van Schaik account. Customers can use the points to spend on any purchases in-store or via the app. Staff can only spend points via the App on airtime and data.


How do you earn Rewards?
Earn Rewards on purchases at Van Schaik Bookstores. Earn Rewards via the Van Schaik Rewards App by unlocking advert screen (swiping right), engaging with adverts (Left swipe) and earning wallet points as a winner of competitions.

How do I use Rewards for data or airtime?
In the Van Schaik Rewards App, you use your Wallet to buy airtime or data using the “Shop” function. You can also buy airtime and data via a USSD code *134*567#
